CCTV design and installation for homes and businesses
Karagiannis Security Systems® provides CCTV design, installation and upgrades for homes and businesses. Based in Melissia, with experience in security systems since 2006, the company proposes equipment to suit the premises, lighting conditions and intended use. Each proposal considers the cameras, recording system and, where supported, remote viewing from a mobile phone.
Coverage designed around your premises
Before choosing the number of cameras, the assessment considers the areas of interest, viewing distances, obstructions, day and night lighting and available cable routes. The lens and camera position are selected for the required view, rather than on megapixel count alone.
A general overview of an area is different from a more detailed view of a particular point. Camera views should be limited to the intended purpose, with privacy and the requirements applicable to the premises taken into account.
Cameras, recording and infrastructure
The system is considered as a whole: cameras, a compatible recorder, storage, power supplies and network connections. For an existing installation, the assessment first checks the cabling and equipment that could be retained. A new camera cannot be assumed to work with every older recorder.
Installation and configuration follow the agreed design. Functional checks cover the image, recording, footage retrieval and the viewing options selected for the installation.
Mobile viewing and event notifications
Remote access is configured using a compatible application and the capabilities of the selected system. It requires a suitable internet connection and appropriate access settings. Viewing on a monitor or television also depends on the connections available.
Event notifications are assessed against the equipment and its configuration. Facial recognition, number plate recognition and door control are not automatically included with every CCTV installation. Any connection to an alarm receiving centre is considered separately and is subject to the terms of that service.
Upgrading an existing CCTV system
For an installation with limited image quality or unreliable mobile access, an initial assessment identifies what needs replacement or adjustment. CCTV can be considered as part of a wider security design alongside an intruder alarm installation. Businesses can also discuss a separate proposal for a business telephone system.
Frequently asked questions about CCTV
How many cameras do I need?
The number depends on the areas to be covered, viewing angles, distances and obstructions, not just the floor area. A site assessment helps avoid unnecessary overlap and gaps in the intended coverage.
Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes, provided that compatible equipment is selected and the necessary connectivity is available. The application, authorised users and access arrangements are configured for the particular installation.
How many days of footage will the recorder store?
Technical storage capacity depends on the number of cameras, image settings, recording mode and disk capacity. The permitted retention period is a separate matter. It must reflect the purpose and applicable data protection requirements for the premises, rather than simply how much footage fits on the disk.
Can my existing cameras or cables be retained?
Possibly, following condition and compatibility checks. An upgrade proposal distinguishes equipment that can remain in use from items that need replacement. Compatibility is not assumed across all systems.
Does CCTV installation include a monitoring service?
Not automatically. Local recording and mobile viewing are separate from a service provided by an alarm receiving centre. Availability, equipment requirements and service terms are considered separately.
